NAGHAHANAP na si Pangulong Noynoy Aquino ng bagong hepe ng Philippine National Police (PNP).
Pero mariing itinanggi ng Presidente na bunga ito ng anim na buwang preventive suspension na ipinataw kay PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima.
Ani Aquino, ito’y dahil na rin sa nakatakdang pagreretiro ni PNP Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina sa Hulyo 2015 at ni Purisima sa Nobyembre 2015.
“So, regardless, parang with or without this issue, naghahanap na din tayo dito. Titingnan natin ‘yung track record ng all of the contenders,” paliwanag ni Aquino.
Ipinasuspinde ng Office of the Ombudsman si Purisima at iba pang opisyal kaugnay ng umano’y maanomalyang kontrata ng PNP sa isang courier service company.
Nabigo ang heneral na makakuha ng temporary restraining order (TRO) sa suspensyon.
Tumangging magkomento ang Pangulo kung naapektuhan ng mga paratang laban sa heneral ang tiwala niya dito.
“I had parang brief, ano. It’s a three-page briefer on what the specifics of the case are. And medyo nag-aalangan lang akong sumagot dito. I’m sure somebody will say I’m favoring Director General Purisima or I’ve lost trust in Director General Purisima.
“Bottom line is, may utos ‘yung Ombudsman, he is — he will have to undergo the processes and one of them is this preventive suspension and the other aspect naman is like any other citizen, he has the right to defend himself.” ROBERT TICZON
