HONRADO, GET OUT

arlie-calalo41IF these Manila International Airport Authority officials led by its general manager, Jose Angel Honrado, still know about ‘delicadeza’, they should have long vacated their posts for they’d never done anything to improve the miserable condition of the country’s two international airports.

A visibly-displeased Valenzuela Rep. Sherwin Gatchalian just came out and pressed for the ouster of these lackluster and naive MIAA officials as the former laments that the Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s Terminals 1 & 3 have been ranked by a United States financial media company as the 8th among the 10 Worst Airports in the World.

What the heck, these officials still have the guts to cling onto their posts despite the quadruple whammy they have caused the country. They’re excessively outrageous!

Rep. Gatchalian remarks: “We’ve been adjudged as one of the ‘worst airports in the world’ three times over and just recently we have become ridiculed by the world because our supposedly modern airport does not have any CCTV camera.”
He’s seemed right that Honrado tends to be impassive towards feedbacks from tourists and passengers who experienced their worst nightmares at our airports.

These airport officials could spare the country from further humiliation if they better resign so that the President can appoint people who are experts in the field of airport and aviation operations. In December 2013, four people were killed at the NAIA Terminal 3 in an ambush near the arrival bay. MIAA executives again grabbed the headlines for failing to install security cameras at the NAIA-3 complex. Grrrr!

He says, the President should appoint administrators who are familiar with the challenges of the airport management and who are ready to face the changing needs of a rapidly expanding sector through management development and training.

‘Text Mayor John Rey Tiangco’
A citizen’s cooperation has proven once again to be a key factor in the anti-drug campaign in Navotas following the recent arrest of one of the notorious drug peddlers in the city.

Detained and formally charged with drug offenses was Roven Pascual, 53, a city resident who has been said to be a notorious drug peddler and a part of a well-entrenched syndicate operating not only in the city but also in the neighboring cities.

Mayor Tiangco was delighted over the cooperation shown by the residents as indicated by the latest successful operation of the buy-bust operation by the local police that resulted in the arrest of Pascual. The mayor immediately alerted the police after he personally received a text message from a concerned resident through his ‘Text Mayor John Rey Tiangco’ project about Pascual’s illegal drug activities.

Tiangco said, he already instructed police Chief Senior/Supt. Conrado Gongon to further intensify the operations and arrest Pascual’s cohorts – Jerry Roldan and Alejandro Ang. The mayor couldn’t hide his happiness over the residents’ support and cooperation to the city government’s anti-drugs campaign.
